Oluwamayowa Obeisun obtained a BEng degree in chemical engineering in 2009, and an MSc in Environmental and Energy Engineering in 2010, both from the University of Sheffield. His research project examined the Processing methods and limitations to the production of biofuels in Europe. Oluwamayowa started his PhD in the Centre of CO2 technology in 2011.

Research project

Title: High performance novel fuel cell architetcture

Supervisors: Dr Dan Brett and Dr Paul Shearing

The conventional bipolar fuel cell configuration for Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell is an unattractive option for industrial/mass production because of problems such as high cost and bulky designs. Most of the current research therefore focus on technologies that can circumvent these problems and improve perfomance characteristics.

This project aims to develop a new type of fuel cell based on printed circuit board (PCB) technology with higher fault tolerance, flexible design and reduced cost. It aims to optimise the design parameters in order to easily manufacture planar flexible stacks for large-scale  production.
