Department welcomes record number of new students

The department has this week welcomed 132 new first year undergraduate students and 21 new MSc students. The undergraduate intake is the highest in the department's history, and count 72 Home/EU students and 60 overseas students. The students come from all over the world and their backgrounds are very diverse. Their academic achievements so far, which earned them a place on the undergraduate programme, have been outstanding and will make the next three/four years an interesting and promising time for the department.
PSE Prize winner 2010-11

Leon Brown is the winner of the 2010-11 Process Design Award sponsored by
Process Systems Enterprise for his outstanding project work in the fourth year design project module CENGM011 Advanced
Process Modelling and Design. The award is made annually to the student with the highest accumulated average in the module. In his work, Leon developed a dynamic model of a CO2 absorber and used this model to study different control strategies for the unit. The model was developed using gPROMS®, Process Systems Enterprise's advanced modelling environment. |
