Welcome to the 60th season (2011-12)
We are delighted to announce that our very own Provost, Professor Malcolm Grant, has agreed to be our new Honorary President!
Dates for all of our 2011-12 concerts can be found in the Concert Diary, and during this 60th season we are planning a series of guest recitals, in addition to our usual concert portfolio. A special ‘birthday’ concert will be taking place on Tuesday 1 May 2012, where we plan to perform the pieces played at the very first UCL CMC concert.
Colleagues are warmly invited to join the club, and uniquely among UCL societies, membership is open to staff (academic, non-academic and retired), students and alumni. While musicians of any kind are an integral part of our membership, we welcome eager listeners as a concert is nothing without an audience!
For this, our 60th, season membership is *free*!. Please click here to download and fill out an application form to apply for membership (as you will need a membership card to access CMC facilities
Concerts are free and open to all. Benefits of membership include the opportunity to perform in our concerts, access to our excellent piano practice room and advance notice of our concerts. We also have a mailing list and a performers list so that members can find other like-minded people to meet and perform with.
Our first concert this term is on Thursday, 6 October, 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the Haldane Room, North Cloisters, Wilkins Building, main campus. The programme will include Bach’s Violin Concerto in E major and Dutilleux’s Sonatine for flute and piano. Full details of the programme can be found in the Concert Diary.
The Chamber Music Club Choir has been established to perform choral works, and rehearses regularly. This group is open to all, though membership, additionally, of the Chamber Music Club is encouraged.
