Application and Admission to the CES
Application for any of the programmes offered by the CES (either
research studies or for the Master's degrees), must be made through the
UCL Admissions Office.
See the following link for full details:
Candidates for research degrees should propose a topic in some detail in their application. The Graduate Tutor will then attempt to find a suitable member of staff to act as the supervisor. Great importance is attached to creating a close and supportive relationship between supervisor and student, which is carefully monitored through regular progress reports. Because of the wide range of interests and expertise in the Centre for European Studies, the majority of qualified applicants can be placed with supervisors or, if necessary, directed to supervision in other departments.
If you wish to discuss a proposed research topic informally and do not as yet have a clear idea of potential supervisors, please contact Patrizia Oliver, who can direct you to the most appropriate member of staff for your topic; relevant contact details available at:
UCL does not have a general closing date for receipt of
applications for graduate study, but applicants are advised to apply as
early as they are able. Candidates applying for UCL Scholarships or
AHRC funding should submit their general application in good time
(please consult separate page on Funding for further guidance).
