Terms of reference

The Security Working Group reports to the Information Systems Infrastructure Steering Group.

Its remit is

To make recommendations to Infrastructure Steering Group on a College strategy for the management of system and network security.
To make recommendations to Infrastructure Steering Group on policies which need to be enforced College-wide and by associated connections, and to ensure the security of the systems.
To provide strategic and technical guidance to UCL-CERT.
To advise on the technical issues and feasibility of solutions to the following:
- providing ready access to computing systems to authorised individuals
- preventing access to computing systems to unauthorised individuals
- enabling workgroup computing across system-administrative domains
