Dr Henry Liu is the current President of the International Federation of Translators (FIT). He is a consultant interpreter in English, Chinese and French, with experience at the highest level of professional interpreting. Dr Liu has interpreted for heads of state and other dignitaries; he has been involved in many international conferences, including APEC, and has accompanied many diplomatic missions. His areas of specialism include law, diplomacy and international trade. Dr Liu is an active interpreting and translation educator locally, regionally and internationally. Dr Liu has given keynote addresses in major T&I conferences in Oceania, North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America and with Prof Anthony Pym, Dr Liu co-chaired the panel on Communicating research to the professions at the 2016 EST Congress in Aarhus.
