Research & Teaching Profile

Research Interests: Clinical epidemiology/cardiology/ethnicity/low and middle-income countries
Research Description: Prognosis of coronary disease across the spectrum of risk. Justin Zaman is building on his PhD which investigated differences in the prognosis of coronary disease across the spectrum of risk in South Asians and Whites in the UK. He aims to research into the burden of cardiovascular diseases in low and middle-income countries, especially the relative contributions of social and biological factors to aetiology of coronary disease phenotypes such as angina, and their interaction with migration, urbanisation and ethnicity. Within the UK, he is involved in studying the development and progression of angina pectoris phenotypes and in understanding the influences on prognosis of acute coronary syndromes.
