UCL Secures New STFC-funded Centre for Doctoral Training.

Following a very competitive bidding process, UCL was chosen to host STFC's new Centre for Doctoral Training in Intensive-Data Science; the first STFC-funded centre of its kind.

The Centre, co-directed by Professors Nikos Konstantinidis and Ofer Lahav will train a minimum of 21 doctoral students through a cohort-based approached, providing students with high-quality training which will address the current skills gap. With over 20 partner organisation committed to engaging with the Centre, the students will undertake original research whilst also interacting with the industrial sector to provide solutions to real world problems. Industrial partners have pledged both cash, and in-kind support, offering to host students for 6 month placements to be taken during the course of their studies. The new Centre will admit it's first cohort in 2017/18 and are currently recruiting!
