Matt Wakelin
Dr Matt Wakelin’s primary role is as the Strategic Coordinator for the neuroscience domain. He is also responsible for the basic life sciences domain.
After completing his PhD at Imperial College, Matt worked as a post-doc at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, investigating the role of chemokines and adhesion molecules in T cell migration. He then joined the Medical Research Council as a programme manager where he was responsible for a number of research areas including neuroscience and stem cells. Following this he was a senior research manager at Cancer Research UK with responsibility for running the clinical and non-clinical fellowship schemes.
