Jérémy Anquetin publishes a paper on the rediscovered holotype material of the Late Jurassic turtle Plesiochelys with Sylvie Deschamps (Musée d’Archéologie du Jura, France) and Julien Claude (Institut des Sciences de l’Evolution de Montpellier, France) in PeerJ.

Susan Evans leads a paper on further material of Beelzebufo from the Cretaceous of Madagascar in PLoS ONE which shows this animal was more armoured than previously thought. Joe Groenke, Alan Turner, and David Krause (all Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, USA) and Marc Jones coauthored the paper. The new material was recovered during fieldwork relating to the Mahajanga Basin Project funded by the National Science Foundation and National Geographic.

Marc Jones attends the Australian Society of Herpetology (ASH 2014) in Canberra and presents a talk on skull mechanics of the lizard chondrocranium.

Arnau Bolet Mercadal (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain) successfully defended his thesis 'The evolutionary history of lizards on the Iberian Peninsula' on January 16th, 2014, and was awarded the highest category - Excellent cum laude. His thesis work was co-directed by Susan E. Evans (UCL) and Àngel Galobart Lorente (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). Many congratulations to him.
