"Think Pieces" on current legal issues on CCS

Think Pieces are commissioned by the CCLP from those with an expertise or particular perspective on legal developments of CCS. The pieces aim to provide an brief insight into discrete topics on CCS and the law with a view to provoking further discussion and research.

Implementing the EU CO2 Storage Directive: Challenges and Opportunities

On 7th November 2011 the CCLP, in association with Natural Resources Law Group, University of Oslo, hosted a conference on the implementation of the 2009 EU CO2 Storage Directive and the role of public engagement on CCS at University College London (UCL), Faculty of Laws, London. This conference provided a platform for the CCLP to present the key findings from the EU Case Studies Project, launched in January 2011.

Global Legal Symposium on Carbon Capture and Storage

On 15-16 March 2010, the Carbon Capture Legal Programme, in Association with New York University School of Law, Guarini Center on Environmental and Land Use Law and sponsored by the Global CCS Institute, hosted a Symposium in New York, bringing together many of the world's leading regulatory and policy experts on CCS to consider the scope and focus of the laws and regulations which will govern the various processes associated with CCS.
