a lecturer in June 2013, though he will be working in the department prior to
his official start date.  He is currently Director of the Biodiversity
Informatics Research at the American Museum of Natural History, New York City.
 Richard works on phylogenetic aspects of biodiversity and conservation,
with a special interest in Madagascan reptiles and amphibians, and he studies
the relationship between ecological niches and geographic distributions, and
the impacts of climate change on biodiversity. He has recently written a book,
‘Driven to Extinction: The Impact of Climate
Change on Biodiversity'.</rss:description>
