Ben’s research interests concern understanding abundance variation among species particularly in light of different anthropogenic pressures, developing biodiversity indicators to accurately gauge biodiversity depletion and linking science to policy to enable robust environmental decision-making.  He has field projects in a variety of places including Antarctica and Liberia, and recently edited a book, ‘Biodiversity monitoring and conservation’.
