Mock Assessment Centres

What to expect...

If you expect to attend an employer's assessment centre this year, for either a graduate job or internship, then you can practice first by attending this mock assessment centre.

Each Assessment Centre is provided by a range of employers from different sectors. You don't have to be applying to the employers or sectors involved as they will be running general exercises typical of assessment centres run by any company.

You will complete:

  • a competency based interview
  • a group exercise
  • a presentation

and receive feedback on how you have performed in each area.

You will also have the chance to network with the graduate recruiters taking part in the event.

This opportunity is only available to a limited number of students so is only open to penultimate and final year students.

Do I have to book to attend?

YES! You MUST register in advance and pay a returnable £20 cash deposit if you wish to attend. This enables us to monitor attendance levels and ensure that the events are more effective for those attending.

Places are allocated to those making the payment on a first come, first served basis and more students register interest online than there are places available so you will remain on a reserve list after registering until we receive your deposit. We therefore recommend early payment to avoid disappointment!

Register using your "My Careers Service" account. If you're using this for the first time, please read the My Careers Service Instructions carefully before trying to log in.

You can register NOW and bookings will close when each one is fully booked or, at the latest, 1 working day before the event.

Can I attend if I haven't booked?

NO! These events are popular and usually fully booked. Additionally, these events are held off campus and the host needs a list of attendees in advance so you will not be able to turn up on the day having not booked and paid the deposit in advance.

How to prepare...

The Help With... section of our website suggests a range of resources on preparing for Assessment Centres.

Using these in advance will help you get more out of this event.
