My Careers Service
What is it?
Your "My Careers Service" account is a Careers Management Portal from the Careers Service to manage all of your event bookings in one place.
However, it is not a calendar of all events. You will only need to log in to your account if you want to attend an event that is advertised on our website once booking for that particular event is open or to cancel a booking that you've already made.
The full programme of events including details of when events open for booking can be found via our Events Calendar.
You can also use your My Careers Service account to keep your UCLAlert! preferences up to date if you want to receive event information, general news and vacancy details by email based on your interests.
All current UCL students will automatically have an account set up as detailed below so please DO NOT REGISTER A NEW ACCOUNT THROUGH THE LOG IN PAGE.
How to log in...
STEP 1 - LOOK AT THE UCL Directory. Your Username is set as your UCL email address as it appears in this directory. It IS NOT your "@live" address or any other format of email address you might use so please search for your name on the directory to find the correct format.
Step 2 - At the Log In Page, use the "Reset Password" link to have your password emailed to your UCL account when logging in for the first time as this is not the same password that you use for other UCL IT systems.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEW STUDENTS: Our parent body, The Careers Group, University of London, are experiencing difficulties creating My Careers Service accounts for new students at UCL but hope to have this resolved by Friday 5th October at the latest. We will email all students once accounts are set up and working.
In the meantime, if you see any events on our website that are open for booking, there will be information for new students on how to register until your MCS account is working.

What if my email address isn't recognised?
If your email as detailed above isn't recognised when you request a new password, please contact us immediately so that we can create an account for you so that you can log in to My Careers Service and register for events.

GradClub Members
GradClub members log in to "My Careers Service" as above. If you didn't use it as a student and no longer appear on the UCL Directory so don't know/cannot look up your Username, please contact us to with your GradClub membership details and we can tell you how to log in.

How do I use it?
UCLAlert!: Use "My Account/My Profile" in the banner toolbar to check your personal profile details and edit/update where necessary. You should then add Skills and Job Industry Preferences and select "yes" to receive "JobAlerts" to benefit from the UCLAlert! service.
Event Bookings: All events run or hosted by UCL Careers Service will be advertised on our Event Listings. When booking/registration for each event opens, you can log in to My Careers Service and use the Calendar to see details of bookable events and register. Use the I want to... / View My Activity link to check details of bookings made or to cancel event bookings if you're later unable to attend.
Why can't I book 1-1 advice?
My
Careers Service is only being used to manage Event bookings using the
Calendar function and your UCLAlert! preferences so do not try to use
the "Make Appointment" link.
For booking information for 1-1 Advice, please see our Talk to an Adviser or our Applications Advice pages.
