Employer Presentations

What to expect...

Many recruiters deliver presentations throughout the Autumn and Spring terms to publicise their company and recruitment opportunities to UCL students and graduates.

They generally last for up to an hour and provide an ideal opportunity for you hear from newly hired recent graduates, recruitment staff and/or more senior staff about a particular company, their recruitment process, (tios on applications / interviews), opportunities available and what it’s like to work for them.

Additional time for informal networking is often available at the end of a presentation if you’re free to stay on to talk to the recruiters on a 1-1 basis but you can leave after the presentation if you can't stay more than an hour.

How to prepare...

The Researching your Career section of our website suggests a range of resources which provide information on specific occupations and what's happening in a particular sector at the moment plus company profiles for most of the recruiters listed below. A basic knowledge of these areas will allow you to focus on more in-depth questions at the presentation.

Our Networking section will give you tips on making the most of events like this.

Booking Instructions...

For all Presentations, you MUST book in advance to guarantee a place. This enables us to monitor attendance levels and ensure that presentations are more effective for those attending.

Many Presentations are held "On Campus", (e.g. at the Careers Service, in the ULU Building or in one of the main UCL Buildings), and room details will be confirmed when you book to attend using your "My Careers Service" account. (If using this for the first time, please read the My Careers Service Instructions carefully before trying to log in).

Some Presentations below may however be "Off Campus" - venues organised by the recruiters themselves, often in their own offices. You will need to register with the recruiter directly for these and location details will be provided by them when your registration is confirmed. Any queries about your booking should be directed to the recruiter.

Booking for each Presentation will open TWO weeks before it takes place and will close when it is fully booked or, at the latest, at midnight on the day before the event takes place.

Cancellations for On Campus Presentations can be made at any time up to midnight the day before a presentation takes place so, if you're unable to book because a presentation is full, you can check My Careers Service regularly in case places do become available.

No deposit is required once you've booked and all presentations are free to attend.

Can I attend if I haven't booked?

On the day, after all registered students have arrived, space permitting, students that haven't booked will be admitted on a first come first served basis but we cannot guarantee entry.

UCLAlert!

To ensure you know when a Presentation you're interested in is available for booking, we strongly recommend that you register with UCLAlert!

Sainsbury’s 2020 Leaders Programme and Assessment Centre Success.

During the next decade, the retail sector will become a very different place. This change is at the heart of the journey that Sainsbury's is taking as an organisation: progressing together towards a vision for 2020. To achieve this, we will need 2020 leaders: individuals with outstanding intellect, business acumen and ambition. Not simply graduates who want to grow with us, but natural pacesetters who expect, demand and deserve senior responsibility very early in their careers. We realise that this type of person is rare; but we offer the rewards, the challenges and the opportunities to attract them.

You can join the 2020 Leaders Programme on one of three streams, Commercial, Operations or People, depending how you see your career developing in the future. Each programme follows the same structure giving you opportunities to experience a number of different roles, approach real business challenges and develop a broad business understanding.

Accompanying this session will be hints and tips and how to be successful in your application for a graduate role with any organisation, starting from your CV right through to your final assessment.
