Focus on Law Week
Week commencing 31st October 2011
Whether you're studying Law or are a non-law student but thinking about a career in this sector and want to learn more, Focus on Law week is a series of lunchtime talks from a range of speakers which are not to be missed.
These short, snappy talks are a great way to dip your toe into the field of Law and gain information and inspiration from those currently working and training in the sector.
Times and Location
All talks take place from 1pm - 2pm and location details will be provided on booking which is essential if you wish to attend. Please read the My Careers Service Instructions if you haven't booked events through this system before.

Training and Practising as a Solicitor
Monday 31st October
A talk by Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP and a Director of the College of Law - sponsors of the UCL Law Fair. The speakers from BLP will be available for informal networking after the talk.
A Career in City Law
Tuesday 1st November
A UCL graduate, now a practising lawyer at Freshfields, (sponsors of the UCL Law Fair), will share their experiences with students wanting to learn more about the realities of the sector.
Training and Practice as a Barrister
Wednesday 2nd November
A talk by Stuart Sime - a Professor at City Law School and an experienced barrister.
Practising Law in Different Environments
Thursday 3rd November
A talk by Timothy Jones of the Government Legal Service who is a Legal Adviser to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Making the Most of the UCL Law Fair
Friday 4th November
A must for anyone attending the UCL Careers Service Law Fair. This talk by Nabarro LLP will give an inside track from a recruiter's perspective on what they'll expect from visitors to the Fair.
