Careers with a SSEES Russian and East European Languages and Cultures Degree
UCL SSEES graduates are to be found in many walks of life, but of particular interest are those careers which cross international boundaries and which use languages - and relate to East, South East and Central Europe. Fields such as government service in the UK and EU, international aid and development agencies, research institutes and consultancies (e.g. marketing, political risk and security) media, business and corporate training schemes, banking, accountancy and other financial services, language agencies, translation and interpreting, teaching, academic research, welfare and rights work. Of particular interest to students of Russian and East European Languages and Culture are those careers which involve working with organisations and businesses which have connections with the SSEES geographical areas of specialism, and which value the communication skills, languages and cultural awareness inherent in this study programme - which may involve time spent in the respective countries.
