UCL CAREERS SERVICE

Karen has been the Director of the Careers Service at UCL since 2004. Having studied Physics at university, Karen began her professional life as a secondary school physics teacher. After teaching in the UK, she moved to South America where she helped set up, and subsequently became Head of, the first British school in Bogotà, Colombia to offer the full UK curriculum to expat and Columbian students. Returning to the UK, Karen moved into the higher education careers sector. As well as being the Director of UCL Careers Service, Karen is also responsible for the provision of careers information and advice to the departments of Medical Physics & Bioengineering, Physics & Astronomy and Space & Climate Physics. In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her young daughter, photography and keeping fit.

Zara is the PA to the Head of Service / Administrator at UCL. Subsequent to graduating from University, Zara has gained work experience in both the private and public sectors, including recruitment consultancy and charity fund raising. Within her current role, her main duties include providing a liaison point and information services to clients of UCL Careers Service.
