Online Job Sites

Our Online Job Sites page lists a range of online job boards and other resources provided by UCL Careers, The Careers Group, University of London and UCL Union which should be used as a start point when job-hunting.

Careers Tagged is a digital careers library, providing links to a wide range of resources advertising current vacancies or giving tips on how to find a job.

Use search tags such as "Job Hunting", "Job Site", "Directory", "Professional Association", "Networking" and/or tags for any industry areas you are interested in, e.g. "accountancy", "consultancy", "healthcare", "media", "politics", "teaching" etc. to get listings of resources including:

  • A range of job hunting help sheets for UCL students / graduates
  • Listings of job sites with current vacancies
  • Directories of potential recruiters
  • Member directories for professional associations
  • Directories of Recruitment Agencies

*This is a subscription-based resource. Current UCL students will need their UCL userid/password to log in. Recent graduates will need to log in to My UCL Careers and use the graduate userid/password provided on the home page.


Careers Essentials Online

Our modular eLearning course is designed to allow you to engage with all aspects of graduate careers when it suits you.  Courses comprise information, video tutorials, interactive quizzes and exercises, action sets and key resources to help you move forward and take ownership of your future.

Reference and take away resources

The Careers Service Guide, (which includes job hunting articles), and our range of downloadable help sheets, can be collected free of charge from our Information Library (subject to availability).

We also stock a range of free take away graduate recruiter directories and sector specific guides which include application deadlines for a range of graduate schemes and internships plus several reference books which are useful reads when you start job hunting.


Destinations of recent Graduates from your course

Each UCL Department with undergraduate courses has a Departmental Page on our website which includes employment statistics and links to job profiles which graduates from a particular study discipline might typically go in to.


Job Hunting Globally

Many of the resources and job sites listed above will focus more on those seeking work in the UK.

However, we do provide additional resources, job sites and guides for those looking for work overseas.

We organise a wide range of events which can help you to find a job...

Most events require advance booking so follow the links below for more information on:

  • Sector Specific Recruitment Fairs (Autumn Term only): A chance to network with large numbers of major graduate recruiters from sectors popular with UCL students and ask informally about their current vacancies and application procedures.
  • Jobs Market (Summer Term only): A chance to network with large numbers of major graduate recruiters from a wide range sectors and ask informally about their current vacancies and application procedures.
  • Employer Presentations (Autumn and Spring Terms): Talks by individual companies to give you the opportunity to learn more about current vacancies and when / how to apply.
  • Sector Themed Weeks (Autumn and Spring Terms): These events are not focused on direct recruitment but will give you the chance to network with professionals from a range of sectors popular with UCL students to find out more about job hunting, key vacancy sites and other routes in to the sector.
  • Careers Essentials Programme (Autumn and Spring Terms): A series of Careers Consultant led talks aimed at all students and recent graduates which includes a session on job hunting amongst other topics.
  • Researchers Employability Programme (All year  round): A series of Careers Consultant led talks and Employer led networking/recruitment events aimed at recent PhD students and PostDoc Research Staff which includes talk on successful job hunting amongst other topics plus opportunities to network with professionals from a range of sectors to find out more about job hunting, key vacancy sites and other routes in to the sector.

Our parent body, The Careers Group, University of London, organises recruitment fairs twice a year which are open to all UoL students and graduates.

Speak to UCL Graduates from your course or to those working in a specific job role / sector for 1-1 tips and advice on how best to find the types of jobs you're interested in.

Through the Alumni Office, all UCL students and graduates have access to the  UCL Alumni Web Community.

Once logged in*, simply follow the "Careers Mentoring" link and you can then search for contact details of UCL Alumni by:

  • UCL Course or Department
  • Year of graduation from UCL
  • Current occupation / field of work
  • The country they're now based in
