Personality Profiling

“The personal feedback was really useful – I feel less daunted. I know more about my own strengths and weaknesses now.”

What to expect...

Students working alone

These workshops will give you an insight into your own personality and how you may differ from others. This can help you to gain a better understanding of how to work effectively in a team and will be useful if you are considering a leadership role in the future.

Understanding the similarities and differences between yourself and others will help you to interact positively in group discussions, which are often used during employer assessment days as part of the recruitment process. Personality profiling workshops can also help you to identify the types of work and working environments that you may enjoy.

The profiling tool that is used by the Careers Service is the well established
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

After the Event / Unable to attend

Use our library at UCL Careers for information about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) tool used during this session.

Use our Help with… section to find out more about the different types of profiling tests.

Cancellations and Late Arrivals...

For all UCL Careers Events, please aim to arrive 5 minutes before the published start time.

If you arrive late and the event has already started, the facilitator reserves the right to refuse entry so that you don't disrupt the event for other attendees who arrived on time.

If you miss the event due to late arrival, you will need to return the questionnaire and will also lose your deposit.

Cancellations

For those who have registered and paid the deposit, you can cancel up to one working day before the event is due to take place and return the questionnaire to receive your deposit back in full. If you cancel with less notice, (for any reason), or simply don't turn up, you will lose the deposit.

Workshop Dates and Availability

These workshops run 2-3 times each academic term, (but not during UCL vacation periods).

Workshop dates / times will be published in advance on your myUCL CAREERS account and can be booked as detailed in the next tab...

If you are interested in being notified by email about this and other events organised by UCL Careers when they are open for booking, we strongly recommend that you register with the UCLAlert! tageted email service...

If you wish to attend this workshop you must:

  • Register your interest online through your "My UCL Careers" account then

  • Visit UCL Careers in person at least one hour before the workshop takes place to pay a £5 fee, (to cover the cost of the workshop materials), and collect the MBTI questionnaire

Registration opens TWO weeks before a workshop takes place and bookings will close when it is fully booked or, at the latest, 1 working day before the event.

Please note that places are allocated to those making the payment on a first come, first served basis. More students register interest online than there are places available so you will remain on a reserve list after registering until we receive your payment. We therefore recommend early payment to avoid disappointment!

Can I attend if I haven't booked?

Unfortunately no! As attendance requires the fee to be paid and the questionnaire to be completed in advance, it wont be possible to simply turn up on the day and attend.
