Break into the Industry with Search for a Star – Top Prize of Interview for Leading Game Development Studio – 1st Round Deadline Monday 11th December

Search For A Star is one of Europe’s biggest student game development challenges, designed to help you make the leap from student to professional games developer.

We want to prepare you for what lies ahead; that’s why our challenge has been split into components designed by industry experts to mirror a typical games industry recruitment process.

The Skills Assessment: A HackerRank C++ test for programmers or a portfolio piece submission for artists;

The Dev Project: Programmers create their very own game which can be taken in any direction they see fit, while artists create a game-ready asset to industry briefs. You can check out what last year’s winners created here;

The Interview: top performers will be invited to our Finals Day Showcase Event to demonstrate their skills and knowledge to a panel of industry experts.

  • Winners receive a job interview with a leading game development studio;

Formations Company Entrepreneur Award - win £1,000 for your business idea - deadline 30 June

Many entrepreneurs have great and innovative business ideas but struggle to get them up and running. Sometimes all that is needed is a little helping hand to get things started – and that’s what The Formations Company Entrepreneur Award is all about. The Entrepreneur Award is a business grant created to attract the brightest new talent from across any industry or sector.

ESCP Europe - Energy Trading Challenge 2018: deadline 31st January

What is it like to work on the trading floor of the most active energy markets?

What are the key insights needed to trade competitively in oil and gas?

Energy supplies become an ever-more valuable commodity due to strong competition for safe and affordable sources, making energy trading a complex challenge. However, this sector also offers a great opportunity for young talent looking to make an impact.

A life-changing opportunity and major career boost: that is the promise of ESCP Europe's Energy Society in London upon launching the Energy Trading Challenge. Taking place on 22th and 23th February at ESCP Europe Business School’s London campus, the event is organised by MSc in Energy Management (MEM) students with the support of Smart Global, ESCP Europe, and the ESCP Europe Research Centre for Energy Management (RCEM).

KYOCERCA App Developers Competition - TOP PRIZE £3000 Worth of Apple Gift Cards - Registration Launches 1st December 

KYOCERA Document Solutions is trying to find the best team of developers, business students and idea makers, through the annual KYOCERA invitational competition, KYOCodes.

Students will enter a team of three into KYOCodes, and could be crowned as the KYOCERA app developers, potentially winning a top prize of £3,000 worth of Apple gift cards, devices for the university, potential job offers and an accreditation as a KYOCERA developer.

You will be invited to KYOCERA Reading, Manchester or Scotland and tasked with designing, building and presenting an application which meets a real business need and challenge, followed by training on how to develop the concept, before testing and presenting the end product.

Online registration launches on 1st December, training weeks start on 5th February and final presentations are on 2nd April.

Win a Year's Paid Internship with Oracle UK - Deadline January 31st 2018

You can win the opportunity to get a year’s paid internship at Oracle UK, without going through the standard recruitment process! During the placement, you will work as part of the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Business Development and Sales Consulting team, from July 2018 – July 2019.

HOW? We are looking for innovative ideas around the Bloodhound SCC & Oracle Partnership. Successful ideas will be put forward to a panel presentation with members of the Oracle & Bloodhound team before the winner is announced. The competition will run from October 9th, 2017 – January 31st, 2018.
