Study

Students at the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science benefit from the productive collaborations between scientists and clinical researchers and the exposure to clinical aspects of research activities, as well as access to world-class facilities.

Central to our activities is close collaboration between industry, clinicians and academics. Significant income from scientific grants and charitable organisations support our role as leader in cardiovascular research in the UK.

Cardiovascular Science iBSc The Cardiovascular Science iBSc is a year-long course for integrating 3rd year UCL Medical students.

Cardiovascular Science MSc We have brought together world-leading scientist and clinicians across the greater UCL campus working in cardiovascular research to teach on our MSc. The MSc offers students the opportunity to learn about topical areas in cardiovascular science, preparing them for further research or a career in industry.

Research degrees
We offer PhD programmes in cardiovascular science as well as a four-year BHF funded PhD studentships scheme to work in any area of cardiovascular biomedicine and a three-year Great Ormand Street Children's Charity funded PhD studentship scheme at the Centre for Heart Failure, Transplantation and Extracorporeal Support. Recent graduates are in demand for academic or postdoctoral positions, nationally and internationally.

Short Courses
Staff also run courses on hands-on cardiac morphology and we occasionally run cardiovascular gene ontology courses, details of which will be listed on the Cardiovascular Gene Annotation website
