Research Assistant

Up to 10-months internship is available with the Mittnacht laboratory at the UCL Cancer Institute to participate in a Cancer Research UK-funded research project aimed at identifying routes to improve the response of cancer to radiation therapy. 

Working in close association with the team leader Professor Sibylle Mittnacht. There will be opportunity to gather experience using a variety of methodologies, including mammalian tissue culture, CRISPR guided genome editing, molecular cloning and assays to determine the radiation sensitivity in cancer cells. The project is collaborative with the Cancer Research UK Centre for Cancer Therapeutics at the Institute of Cancer Research London http://www.icr.ac.uk/our-research/research-divisions/division-of-cancer-therapeutics) with opportunity to participate in shared team meetings and learn about academic drug development. The post will suit individuals waiting to enrol into PhD programmes and seeking prior laboratory based experience.
