We gratefully acknowledge the support of the following foundations.

Leukaemia Research Fund
Leukaemia Research was established in 1960 and is still the only national research charity devoted exclusively to leukaemia, the lymphomas, myeloma, aplastic anaemia, myelodysplasia, the myeloproliferative disorders and the related blood disorders in both children and adults.

Children With Leukaemia
Children With Leukaemia is a registered charity (no. 298405) inaugurated in 1988 by Diana, Princess of Wales in memory of Jean and Paul O'Gorman. The charity supports and organises events and money raising to aid children struck with leukaemia.

In February 1987, leukaemia killed 14-year-old Paul O'Gorman. Just nine months later, his sister Jean died, also of cancer. Paul's parents had promised him to help other children with leukaemia.

Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Trust's mission is to foster and promote research with the aim of improving human and animal health. Our mission reflects the wishes of our founder, Sir Henry Wellcome, as laid out in his will and now enshrined in our governing document (our constitution).
Our broadly defined mission allows us to respond flexibly to medical needs and scientific opportunities. As well as tackling immediate priorities, our independence and long-term perspective enable us to support research that will benefit future generations.
This rounded view extends to our work on the impact of biomedical research. We seek to improve understanding of the ways science and medicine have developed, and how research affects people and society today.

The Wolfson Foundation
The Wolfson Foundation is a charitable foundation set up in 1955. Grants are made to registered charities in the UK (or organisations with charitable status).
The Foundation supports projects across the fields of science and technology, medical research and health, education and the arts, currently allocating some £35 million per annum.

Cancer Research U.K.
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Association for International Cancer Research (AICR)
The Association for International Cancer Research (AICR) is an independent charity whose aim is to support fundamental research by eminent and promising scientists throughout the world, into the causes and prevention of cancer.
