This website, funded by the HEA and JISC, has been developed to provide educational resources to support the professional development of HE teachers. These materials can be mapped onto the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) so can be used to support accreditation.
Notes below are aimed primarily at the academic staff,
from HoDs through Departmental Tutors through to Personal Tutors themselves.
However, it is important that Departmental Administrators are familiar with the purpose and requirements of personal tutoring in UCL and we would particularly draw attention to the final paragraph in the section headed 'Getting the Best from Personal Tutoring', starting with the phrase in italics. Which brings us to the second attachment.
Detailed instructions for recording students' allocations to Personal Tutors and Departmental Tutors, which task will in most instances fall to Departmental Administrators. As indicated in the first document, this is an essential step if the PPD system is to work. Otherwise, tutors cannot view their tutees' profiles, plans and progress notes.
