If you have not yet attended any CALT courses, please see  Arena One for information about the new scheme, launching in September 2014.

UCL Arena One is a development pathway for postgraduates who teach (usually called PGTAs) at UCL, leading (optionally) to the submission of an application to become an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Training and Development: Attending a Course Prior to September 2014

If you attended a course with CALT prior to September 2014, you could be eligible to apply for recognition as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). This involves the compilation and submission of an application, which is a written claim in line with specific criteria. This portfolio is your narrative account of learning to teach (4 x 500 word case studies), presenting evidence of and reflecting analytically upon your developing concepts of teaching and learning and on your practical experience of teaching.

If, after reading the information in this guidance, you’re thinking of applying for an Associate Fellowship, or for more information, please email: arena.one@ucl.ac.uk.

You may wish to attend an Associate Fellow 'Developing Your Application' session for support with your application. Dates and times of upcoming sessions can be found on the UCL Arena website. At these sessions, please inform the course leader at the beginning of the session if you have attended a previous CALT course.

Submitting your portfolio: September 2014

Please note, this information is for those who have completed a course with CALT prior to the launch of Arena One (September 2014).

For information about completing and submitting your portfolio, please see Application Template (word doc).

The deadline for submission is 5pm on Monday 8th September via the Teaching Associate Programmes Submissions Moodle. You have to register for the Moodle before you can upload your portfolio. There is more information on Moodle about this.
