CAMDEN@UCL
YOUNG ARCHAEOLOGISTS’ CLUB

(Institute of Archaeology, UCL)

The Camden@UCL Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) is based at the Institute of Archaeology and meets once a month. Members come from the local area and many of them have had little or no previous contact with archaeology.

The CAA supports the Camden@UCL Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) of the Institute of Archaeology by sourcing expert help for sessions. We will also assist with sponsorship of sessions from October 2007.

Camden@UCL YAC have been running since September 2005 and have held various sessions, including:
• Visits to the Tower of London, the Museum of London and the British Museum.
• Creating and excavating ‘fishtank archaeology'. Making and painting a cave.
• Participated in real excavation at West Dean training excavation.

Making a Museum

The session was run by MA Museum and Site Interpretation students from the Institute of Archaeology in collaboration with Sarah Dhanjal and Mike Corbishely.

Experts of the CAA visited the club and helped the children in creating labels for objects.

The CAA also provides a wide range of advice and assistance for your project through its Education and Outreach team.
