OUR GRANTS

The Centre for Applied Archaeology supports a variety of archaeological projects and activities drawing chiefly on funds raised by the commercial activities of Archaeological South-East, with some additional contributions from Institute of Archaeology sources.

This new funding scheme was introduced in September 2008 in order to open access to the benefits of the relationship between the Institute of Archaeology and its professional division.

For further details on the funding arrangements …see here.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE SUITABLE FOR CAA SUPPORT?

The main purpose of this grant scheme is to make it easier for the staff of the CAA to be involved in the teaching and research activities of the Institute. This gives the Institute's professional heritage managers and archaeologists the chance to contribute to teaching and research projects, and ensures that the projects being developed by staff and students at the Institute can deploy ASE staff and equipment without having to pay commercial rates.

The main beneficiary of this grant aid is the teaching of Masters Courses at the Institute of Archaeology which rely on contributions from ASE and CAA staff. Funds can, however, sometimes be made available to support individual research projects which have a particular need of professional support.

For a full list of our funding priorities …see here.
