Student: I am a 3rd year Biochemical Engineering student. Company: I am working with Pfizer Bioprocess Development roup, Downstream Process Team.
Background: The area of research I am investigating is lab-scale robustness studies of antibody purification.
The challenge: I am attempting to create a scale down production process for Laboratory Pre-Qualification studies.
Issues that arose were: Getting familiar with the process and the laboratory instrumentation to be able to do the chromatography steps.
Result: I now have a clearer understanding how industrial processes gain acceptance for manufacturing.
