MBI® e-learning

UCL Moodle

The Department of Biochemical Engineering at UCL is the world's largest provider of trained biochemical engineers for the bioprocess industries. Through our 3-4 day on-site MBI® modules we've helped literally thousands of delegates from hundreds of companies get the training in bioprocessing that they need to get on in their careers.

We are delighted to announce that we launched our first e-learning modules in August 2007:

The benefits of E-learning

By enhancing the traditional learning approach, e-learning can deliver great benefits:

  • It provides a flexible delivery route
  • It improves engagement and retention
  • It helps 'close the loop' through online assessment
  • Delegates can learn anywhere and at any time
  • It is always available
  • Helps identify training needs
  • Creates an online training record
  • It is cost effective
  • Easy tracking of progression

Each module is designed to help you reach your goals working either from home or in your own workplace. The modules have been developed with the support of Scottish Enterprise and each has been tested extensively at UCL to ensure ease of use and quality of content. We believe the modules represent a significant innovation in the bioprocess leadership space.

Assessment and accreditation

Each module can be taken on a stand-alone basis or can be combined with other e-modules and on-site modules. Each module is worth 3.75 credits.

E-mentor is a support system that allows you to ask your personal mentor questions via e-mail. You will receive a personal response.
