Background
MEng in Biochemical Engineering with Bioprocess Management (First class honours), University College London, 2004
PhD in Biochemical Engineering, University College London, (collaboration with St. George’s, University of London, and the University of Birmingham). 2008
Postdoctoral Research associate- (collaboration between Department of Biochemical Engineering and the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology at University College London)
Industrial Experience: Research and Development Scientist in Purification Development at Lonza Biologics (2010-2012)

Research Interests
My research interest is in the bioprocessing of complex macromolecules with therapeutic promise. This includes monoclonal antibody (mAb) production in transgenic tobacco plants and scalable purification of mAbs or recombinant proteins from mammalian cell culture. I have also carried out research to facilitate downstream processing by genetic manipulation of a model plasmid DNA product and optimal small-scale fermentation. My current research involves developing a process economics model for cell therapy manufacturing using a computer-based decisional support tool.
