Laboratory Supply Manager & Departmental Safety Officer

The Stores is the main receiving point for all departmental deliveries and I use the Financial Information System (FIS) to process orders, receipt goods and then notify end users of their delivery.

I manage the supplies of consumables required for the department’s research laboratories.

Using FIS and iProcurement I raise and approve requisitions, convert into orders and liaise with our suppliers.

As well as registering new users on FIS, I train them on how to use the system and resolve any queries or problems that may occur during the ordering process.

I manage door and locker keys for new students and staff and, as the Departmental Safety Officer I provide advice on health & safety matters, sign off risk assessment forms, follow up on accident reports and give safety talks to all new starters.
