Entry requirements
2013 admissions cycle
All of the information below relates to applications submitted in the current admissions cycle for entry commencing in either September 2013 or September 2014. If you will be applying in the next admissions cycle for entry in September 2014 or September 2015, please refer to the 2014 admissions cycle information below.
A Levels:
AAA to include a mixture of arts (including humanities and social sciences) and science subjects. See the list of preferred UK GCE A Levels.
Major pathway requirements:
- for Sciences and Engineering, Mathematics, a further science subject plus one further subject from within arts, humanities or social sciences;
- for Health and Environment, Chemistry, one further science or social science subject plus one further subject from within arts, humanities or social sciences;
- for Cultures or for Societies, two subjects from within arts, humanities or social sciences plus one further science subject.
A pass in a further subject at AS Level or equivalent and GCSE English Language and Mathematics at a minimum grade B are required for all programmes
IB Diploma:
38 points with a score of 18 in three higher level subjects to include a mixture of arts (including humanities and social sciences) and science subjects. The specific subject requirements for each pathway is shown below.
Major pathway requirements for 2013 entry:
- for Sciences and Engineering, Mathematics at grade 6, one further subject from Groups 4 or 5 plus one subject from Groups 1, 2, 3 or 6 at higher level;
- for Health and Environment, Chemistry at grade 6, one subject from Groups 3, 4 or 5 plus one subject from Groups 1, 2, 3 or 6 at higher level;
- for Cultures or for Societies, two higher level subjects from Groups 1, 2, 3 or 6 plus one subject from Groups 4 or 5 OR three higher level subjects from Groups 1, 2, 3 or 6 plus at least two standard level subjects from Groups 4 or 5 with grades of 6 in each.

2014 admissions cycle
For applications that will be submitted in the 2014 UCAS cycle (i.e. from 1 September 2013) for entry in either September 2014 or September 2015, please refer to the information below.
