It's widely known that we have the best student common room in UCL and are the envy of many other students. Please see below for more information about what's available to you both inside and outside of the common room.
The common room is located in 1-4 Malet Place and is accessed via your UCL student card. It contains noticeboards for general notices of events, computers, toilets and a kitchen area.
Internal and external events can be held in the common room, but have to end by 11pm.
ensure that you do not force open the entrance door as it’s automatic and therefore not necessary.
There is no access to the common room after
8pm without an alarm going off. If you will require access outside of
the standard times, please email Cristy (email@example.com) who will arrange this access. There's no access to the common room at all during the weekend or during UCL closure days.
The BASc Common Room Committee have written a code of conduct for using the common room and kitchen. It can be viewed as a PDF document by clicking on the link below.
The tutorial room is located next door to the BASc office and the common room. It can be booked by both students and BASc staff and is open from 8.30am - 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Priority is given to BASc staff, as many PGTAs teaching on the BASc Core courses do not have their own office to hold their office hours in.
For instructions on how to book the tutorial room, please click the link below.
operated photocopiers are available in the main UCL Library and the
photocopying room off the walkway between the South Junction and the Lower
Refectory in the Wilkins Building.
There are eight computers available in the Common Room and the College also provides a system of networked computer cluster rooms at various locations across College. A map showing all of the public cluster rooms, details of the machines provided and the opening hours can be found on the Information Systems webpages at: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/workrooms/locations
Students are given a free printing allowance of £12 per academic year, which is equivalent to 80 black and white sheets or 16 colour sheets. See: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/workrooms/printing for further details.
For assistance on any computing matters, please contact the ISD Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, you can visit them in person in the DMS Watson Library (see: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/common/servicedesk/location-hours for location and opening hours) or visit the ISD website at: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/
As an enrolled student, you can also undertake IT training in various packages. Please see: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/training for full details.
