The Bartlett School of Planning is a world centre for learning and research about the form, planning, design and management of cities. Our location, history and expertise have made our programmes and research among the most stimulating and sought-after in the field of planning. We are part of The Bartlett: UCL's global faculty of the built environment.
Before moving to the Bartlett (2006) I worked as a Research Officer at the University of Reading, Department of Real Estate and Planning-Centre for Planning Studies (2003-2006).
I got a first degree in Planning and Regional Development in Greece where I also worked as a freelance planning consultant. I worked on projects like the formulation of quality of life indicators for the Urban Audit Pilot Project of DG Regio and the Unification of the Archaeological Sites of Athens. I then worked as a planner in the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games- 'Athens 2004'.
In late 1999 I decided to study Town Planning at the BSP (MPhil Town Planning). After successfully completing the taught element of that programme I continued studying for my PhD, exploring the use of
previously developed land and the adaptation of housebuilders to this policy and land provision context.
My research and publications span several different areas of regeneration, from social segregation and community consultation to property development and housebuilding. Reserach projects I have worked on have been funded by the European Commission, the ESRC, the National Housebuilders Council (NHBC), the House Builders Federation (HBF), the Foundation for Urban and Regional Studies (FURS), the Greek Ministry of Industry & Technology and the British Council.
