University College London has today welcomed 17 new students to its Australia campus in Adelaide.
The new cohort comprises a mixture of PhD, MSc and other students with backgrounds varying from geology to economics to civil engineering.
The group comprises students from Hungary, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Korea, Malaysia and Australia, including both industry professionals and new graduates.
Sebastien McClay, 23, from Belgium, learned about UCL Australia while he was studying a BSc in Renewable Energy at the University of Exeter.
“Having studied in the UK I was familiar with UCL. Looking for further study opportunities after my Bachelor degree I browsed the UCL website and came across the MSc in Energy and Resources Management at UCL Australia.”
“I was attracted by the niche field of study, the fact that the campus is located in Australia was a bonus,” Sebastien says.
“Many postgraduate degrees in this field are very theoretical and lack practical application so I was very excited to learn this course offers the opportunity to visit some of Australia’s major industry sites via field trips and experience in flesh the technical aspects of what is discussed in the classroom.”
“I cannot wait to experience global industry experts in the classroom and contribute to solving some real energy challenges via my research project in Year 2.”
The new students start their studies with the Economics of Energy, Resources and the Environment course.
