Dr Marita Bradshaw

Marita Bradshaw is a Senior Science Advisor at Geoscience Australia. She has a BSc (Hons) degree in Geomorphology from the University of Sydney and a PhD in evaporite and carbonate geology from the University of WA. She has worked on Australian petroleum geology for the past 20 years, with a special emphasis on the North West Shelf, both at Esso Australia and then at BMR/AGSO. During 1996, Bradshaw was on staff exchange with WMC Resources working with the International New Ventures team. Bradshaw's current interests are in resource assessment, petroleum systems and oil families. She is a member of GSA and PESA.

In 2007, Marita was awarded the prestigious Lewis G. Weeks Gold Medal. Marita was nominated for her sustained, high-level contributions to the evaluation of Australia’s offshore petroleum potential. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to understand the petroleum potential of Australia and to convey that understanding to petroleum exploration companies around the world.
