FAQs

Am I eligible for admission to the Master’s programme?

For admission to the Master’s programme, applicants need to meet strict entry requirements based on their academic background, English language proficiency, knowledge of the programme and professional experience.

Find more information about entry requirements.

When can I expect to receive the outcome of my application?

You can expect to hear about your application within two weeks. In most cases delays are  caused by incomplete applications or pending references. Applications cannot be assessed unless they are complete. If you have any queries about your application please contact us, specifying your application number in the subject.

Why can't I upload documents to the application system?

If you are having difficulties uploading your documents, please make sure that:

1) your documents do not exceed 10 MB in total

2) the file format is .jpg or .pdf

3) Javascript is enabled in your browser.

If you have followed the steps above and are still having difficulty, please contact us.

Am I eligible for a scholarship?

UCL Australia directly manages two extremely competitive scholarship programmes – the Santos Scholarships and the BHP Billiton Scholarships.

The first step when applying for a scholarship is to ensure that you meet the UCL Australia entry requirements for the Master’s programme. If you have a lower second class Honours degree and no substantial professional experience then your scholarship application will not be considered.

For specific and up-to-date information on our scholarship programmes, please visit our scholarship page.

Additional scholarships may be available from UCL.

UCL Australia does not provide advice on external scholarship programmes.

What is the application due date for the Santos Scholarship?

Please check on the Scholarship page.

What is the application due date for the BHP Billiton Scholarship?

Please check on the Scholarship page.

As an international student, can I study and work?

Once you have started your programme you will be able to work up to 40 hours per fortnight during the semesters and full-time during vacation periods. Volunteer work is considered paid work for the purpose of your student visa.

Is class attendance compulsory?

UCL Australia only offers internal studies, so class attendance is compulsory. Students are required to attend at least 80 per cent of their classes. If you are unable to comply due to illness or other special circumstances, please contact Student Services to discuss your situation. Failure to comply with attendance requirements will result in failure of the course.
