The Medieval to Modern Art Group

The Medieval to Modern Art Group stems from a collaboration of PhD candidates from the History of Art Department. Considering our respective fields of research, which range across centuries and continents, we created a student-led group that would reflect our various and interdisciplinary interests. In 2017-2018, the MMAG hosts film screenings that aim to foster reflections on medieval, early modern and modern arts and cultures in relation to cinema. As such, screenings in the autumn and winter terms consider the representation of poetry in the visual form with films by Eric Rohmer (Perceval le Gallois, 1978), Francesco Bertolini (L'Inferno, 1911) and Sergei Parajanov (The Color of Pomegranates, 1969). We welcome everyone to join us to our screenings, accompanied by a glass of wine!

If you wish to join the group, feel free to contact us at any of the following email addresses: helene.birkeli.15@ucl.ac.uklaura.spada.13@ucl.ac.uklauren.rozenberg.14@ucl.ac.uk
