Early Hominin Societies in Africa

This course focuses on when and how the first archaeological sites appeared in Africa, and summarizes first dispersals across the continent by early Homo, the earliest ‘Out of Africa’ and the behavioural characteristics of Early Stone Age hominins. The last part of the course covers the origins of modern humans in Africa, and the cultural features of the Middle Stone Age.
