Kris LOCKYEAR
- B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Research Interests:
Iron age and Roman archaeology and
numismatics particularly in Romania and Eastern Europe. Nationalism, ethnicity
and cultural identity; statistics, computing and publication.
Collaborations:
Recently organised the 24th Annual
Meeting of Computer Applications in Archaeology with Virgil Mihailescu-Birliba
of the Institute of Archaeology in Iasi, Romania.
Undertook archaeometallurgical analysis
of Roman Republican denarii from Romania in collaboration with Dr Matt Ponting,
now of the Fitch Laboratory, Athens, and Dr Gh. Poenaru-Bordea of the Institute
of Archaeology 'Vasile Parvan' in Bucharest, Romania.
Currently in
a major project on the site of Noviodunum,
Tulcea, Romania with Adrian Popescu (Institutul de Arheologie Vasile Parvan,
Bucharest) and Timothy J. T. Sly (Dept. of Archaeology, University of Southampton).
Was also involved in the British Academy
funded Celtic Inscribed
Stones Project.
