Europe
Europe is the westernmost extension of the Eurasian continent. It has no clear boundaries in the East, and the Mediterranean often was more a connection than a boundary between Southern Europe, Northern Africa and Western Asia. Europe was first settled ca. 1.2 million years ago, and anatomically modern man arrived from Africa ca. 200.000 years ago. Agriculture and farming was introduced from Anatolia in the 7th Millennium BC. As antiquarian research started very early in Europe, and most of it is densely settled, the archaeology of the continent is comparably well known. There is no uniform "European prehistory", instead, in different periods different areas shared similar ways of life.
