Aggregates Extraction and Management of the Historic Environment

Between 2008-10 Joe Flatman undertook two strategic reviews of the state of the management of marine aggregates in relation to archaeology on behalf of English Heritage, funded via the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF).

In addition to his work at the Institute of Archaeology, Joe is also currently Heritage Conservation Team Manager at Surrey County Council and is responsible for providing strategic planning advice at the national, regional and county level and, in collaboration with team members, providing a focus for archaeological activity in Surrey.
