Eliott Wragg

Eliott received his BA (Hons) in Ancient History and Archaeology and Post-Graduate Diploma in Field Archaeology from the University of Birmingham and his MA in Maritime Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, UCL

He was employed as a site assistant for Birmingham University Field Archaeology Unit and for Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd. before becoming a senior archaeologist for the latter. He then worked as a freelance site director and project manager before becoming Field Officer for the Thames Discovery Programme, a community archaeology project recording the archaeology of the inter-tidal Thames in the Greater London area. He has worked on a wide variety of sites across the UK ranging from rural prehistoric sites to deeply stratified Roman, Medieval and post-medieval urban sites. He has also worked for a short period in Iceland and now specialises in maritime archaeology, in particular the interpretation of nautical timbers.

Eliott serves on the Executive Committee of the Nautical Archaeology Society and has lectured at a wide variety of societies, national and international conferences and universities.
