Stella Spantidaki

Stella Spantidaki is currently working in collaboration with Margarita Gleba and Susanna Harris, carrying out research on the topic of textile production in Iron Age Greece for the PROCON project which is exploring the role of textile production and consumption in the formation of early states, using the example of Mediterranean Europe.

She gained her PhD in Archaeology in 2013, with her thesis entitled “Textile production in Attica (V and IV centuries BC)” , under the co-tutelage of the Sorbonne University, Paris (Paris IV) and the Ruprecht-Karls University, Heidelberg.

Stella is a member of the Hellenic Centre for Research and Conservation for archaeological textiles (ARTEXT).
