BigPicnic Project survey on food choices

14 June 2018

The EC-funded collaborative BigPicnic Project, involving Theano Moussouri at the UCL Institute of Archaeology, is undertaking a large-scale survey to explore motivation in food choices.

BigPicnic Project survey on food choices

BigPicnic brings together the public, scientists, policy-makers and industry via a range of exhibitions and participatory events to generate dialogue and build greater understanding about the global challenge of food security.

Food security is a topic of major concern for the future and one that will have far reaching impact on personal expenditure, health and lifestyle. The term 'BigPicnic' is used as a metaphor throughout the project and reflects the importance of maintaining sustainable food production and distribution, as well as the social dimension of sharing food between friends and family with food as a cultural and social link.

Survey

The BigPicnic survey will look at what motivates people across Europe and beyond to choose the food they eat. This will help in the development of recommendations to shape the future of research and innovation in areas related to food and food security. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. No personally identifiable data will be collected.

Any enquiries about the project may be directed to Theano Moussouri.
