The UCL Institute of Archaeology and Anglo-Israel Archaeological Society will jointly host a lecture by Rebekah Welton (University of Exeter) on 12 November.
Dr Welton's lecture is titled Food and Alcohol in Iron Age Israel and Judah: Archaeological Perspectives. A wine reception will follow the event; all welcome. Admission free without ticket.
Abstract
Beer, honey, dairy, bird and pig: what role did these products have in the ancient Israelite household? Dr Welton will re-examine common conceptions, and show how archaeology can contribute to our understanding of past ritual behaviours.
