Continuing Education and Adult Learning at the UCL Institute of Archaeology
As a world leader in archaeological research and education, the UCL Institute of Archaeology offers an unrivalled range and depth of courses covering all aspects of archaeology. Many of our undergraduate and Master’s courses are open to members of the public by arrangement with the Institute’s Short Course Administrator (email: ioa-ugadmissions@ucl.ac.uk)

A wide range of courses run by the UCL Institute of Archaeology are available to Continuing Education (CE) students. These students may take one or two courses from a selection of Undergraduate and Masters modules in the Department (subject to availability).
CE students come from a wide variety of backgrounds: retired people, mature students wishing to prepare for full-time education, general enthusiasts, former students of the subject who wish to refresh or continue their archaeological knowledge, and teachers wishing to broaden their repertoire.
Courses run by the Institute of Archaeology are taught during the day. CE students participate in and contribute to courses in the same way as Undergraduate/Masters students, and may submit coursework for marking if they wish. Once admitted to the department, CE students are entitled to access to the UCL Library for reading rights (included in the course fee).
