History:Okasha/1993, 264: `The stone was discovered on 3 September 1891 by Wills while searching for a lost cross recorded by Blight. The stone was then in a rockery...Wills added: `The present gardener told me that when the rockery was formed, about fifteen years ago...he assisted in removing the inscribed stone from Pig's Court, a short distance below the Rectory (where it was built into an old wall), to its present site'. Iago recorded that the stone was dug up, washed and re-erected in the Rectory grounds on November 4 1891...In 1945 Macalister recorded it `at the entrance to the churchyard...presumably its present position'.
